Who is behind India Duty Calc

Radif Partners

Independent publisher of a working reference on Indian customs duty, tariff lines and import logistics

India Duty Calc is published by Radif Partners, a company that builds free reference tools on public rules. This one exists because the duty on a shipment to India is three calculations stacked on each other, and each rests on a different text: a tariff schedule, an exemption notification, an integrated tax schedule and a set of valuation rules.

What the site does

The calculator turns an FOB value into a customs value, then adds Basic Customs Duty, Social Welfare Surcharge and IGST, naming the rule at each step. The tariff search reads the lines of the Customs Tariff from CBIC's chapter files, with later Finance Act changes laid over them and marked as such. The logistics pages explain containers, pallets, chargeable weight and delivery terms in our own words.

Where the facts come from

From CBIC, the Union Budget site, the Gazette of India, the Press Information Bureau and customs houses. Each source shows the date we read it. Container measures come from one carrier's published brochure, because the ISO text could not be read, and the page says so. See the method page for the limits, which are real.

What we are not

We are not CBIC, ICEGATE, DGFT, a customs house or a licensed customs broker. We make no classification rulings and give no legal, tax or customs advice. The bill of entry as assessed by customs decides what is due.

How the site is paid for

Nothing is sold here. There are no leads and no affiliate links. If advertising is added one day, it will never sit inside a tool, and it cannot use what you type, which stays in your browser.

Tell us when something is wrong

Rates change by notification, sometimes overnight. If a figure differs from the official text, write to contact@indiadutycalc.com with the page and the notification number. The editorial policy explains how a correction is made.
